Cormorant Prudence Island 2023 by Melanie dai MedeirosThis activity is made possible in part by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, through an appropriation by the Rhode Island General Assembly and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts.
Whitetail deer/Landscape Cut- 2021 Melanie dai MedeirosThese works of art are being made possible in part by a grant from the Rhode Island State Council on the Arts, through an appropriation by the Rhode Island General Assembly and a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. I have spent much time on Prudence Island in Rhode Island. Time is spent walking, gathering, and talking to residents that result in this collection of 10”x15” drawings that are still in progress. These drawings are being scaled up one at a time to 18x24 with the intention of these being the basis for the next 4’x20’ish foot long portion of “Landscape”. Simultaneously some objects are being transformed in to paper pulp renditions as well.
